This computer is on its last legs and hisses continually and constantly. I hopefully will be happier once I get the replacement in place. I haven’t enjoyed having to log in and out constantly when it overheats. Then I have certain people in the medical profession who have been stressing me out lately when they [...]

Thanks for nothing

Out of nowhere, I just saw that Mr. Penske, who was suppose to buy Saturn, isn’t. No warning. No rumblings. I guess I’m a fool for sticking with them for 16 years. And of course my dealership’s site has absolutely nothing about what’s going on.
I am VERY unhappy.
A driving rant…

So many possible topics here, so little time. I’ll just focus on one that I’ve noticed a lot lately and is really getting to me. It seems that right of way on major arterial streets does not exist anymore (maybe it never did, or maybe it did for one second…) I can’t count how many [...]
Expect a duller blog…

I give up. I tried to liven this blog up with a couple of videos and pictures this year. In the past week, many of them have vaporized. Why bother having a video-embed capability for blog posts when the videos will eventually vaporize?! I’ve been trying not to screw-up someone’s copyright rights, but maybe I [...]
My annual summer rant…

As summer drags on, the humidity hangs along with it. As mentioned previously, I HATE humidity. Warm-blooded people don’t handle it well. Even in the dead of February, baby me was a little furnace, according to my mom, whose arm was always dripping after holding her baby furnace. I’ve continued to be a mini-furnace ever since. Sometimes I [...]

From the Chicago Tribune:
Sears Tower changes name to Willis tomorrow

Known as the Sears Tower since it opened in 1973, the tallest building in the United States is set to change its name to Willis Tower.
The London-based insurance brokerage Willis Group Holdings will make the name change official Thursday with a [...]
Weather rant

It has been raining for four hours straight – not predicted. Enough with the rain already. Nearly 2 feet of rain so far this year…GRUMBLE. The crab can hopefully go burrow back into the sand soon…if it isn’t too soggy…
Longing for the desert…

I think I need to rename this blog Weather disappointment and its effects on the mind. Chicago weather is just unbelievable. I know other areas get two feet of snow dumped on them or have 75 degrees dewpoints, but this place gets it all. I even saw hail a couple of weeks ago. We had [...]
2 flooded basements in nine days
Posted in weather, tagged flooding, rant on March 8, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
Once again, I am dealing with a flooded basement and I am mad. Chicago supposedly has a deep tunnel project that has been under construction for 30 years. Yet it can’t handle two to three inch rains, which seem to be increasing around here (like once in every nine days.) I spent an hour bailing [...]
It’s hard to be a freak…

I’m seeing this all over the Internet – “Who still uses rabbit ears? The poor and the elderly.” And that’s a nice posting. I guess I must be poor and old.
Not everyone being affected by this digital tv transition stuff is old and poor. I’m neither. Chicago was very, very late to cable, so I [...]
