They had a great win last night. It’s still pre-season, but they seem to be doing well. I hope they keep it up. We need a winning Bears team here – now!

Expect a duller blog…

I give up. I tried to liven this blog up with a couple of videos and pictures this year. In the past week, many of them have vaporized. Why bother having a video-embed capability for blog posts when the videos will eventually vaporize?! I’ve been trying not to screw-up someone’s copyright rights, but maybe I [...]
RIP, Ted Kennedy and Dominick Dunne

Double duty sad news today. Ted Kennedy passed away. I figured he would be gone soon when he didn’t attend his sister’s funeral. Whatever may be said, he ended up being a surrogate father for 13 kids at age 36. That had to have been tough, with all those kids traumatized with the brutal murders of [...]
My annual summer rant…

As summer drags on, the humidity hangs along with it. As mentioned previously, I HATE humidity. Warm-blooded people don’t handle it well. Even in the dead of February, baby me was a little furnace, according to my mom, whose arm was always dripping after holding her baby furnace. I’ve continued to be a mini-furnace ever since. Sometimes I [...]
A picture adds a 1000 pounds…

Nothing like a picture to really show you how you’re looking (oops, I forgot to post it!) Current verdict – a lot worse than I thought, or at least what I’ve been seeing in the mirror. There’s going to be some serious thought going down about what do about it. SHRUDDER!

Perham represented at world record 181 fire truck parade | Perham Enterprise Bulletin | Perham, Minnesota

Just saw this cool article from the PEB, as grandma Farrell used to call it – aka The Perham-Enterprise Bulletin (grandma might not be thrilled to know the paper will merge and change its name in October, but [...]
Free Range?

Maybe my comprehension is getting fuzzier. Yesterday, for the first time, I heard about “free-range” kids. I’d heard the term free range before, so I thought I knew what the phrase meant. Nope. I thought it was about kids eating free-range beef to be healthier. I found out, hilariously, it means kids allowed to range free [...]
Struggling for a topic…
Posted in blogging, tagged blogging, dullness on August 12, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
Once again, I wrestle with content. I just forced myself to do an inventory of potential topics and drew a blank. Every now and then, I try and force myself to write an entry even if I have nothing to say. I do think it’s good for me to occassionally struggle for a topic. Sometimes [...]
Reflections, Mad Men, Season II…

I bought the DVD set almost a month ago and have been devouring it ever since. I finally finished all the extras and the commentaries, plus reviewed the last two episodes of season I, last week and have been digesting what I’ve seen.
I’ve mentioned Mad Men twice before, so there’s already some ideas, thoughts, [...]

Blogging lull has returned – it always does. Instead of the hot chocolate January version, we have the sit-by-the-fan August version. Please stand by. Zzzzzzz…
