Reflections on the art of blogging…

I haven’t blogged about blogging in a long time. When I first started to blog, I spent a lot of time thinking out loud, or should I say on line. I started this thing as a “lovely experiment” on a whim and slowly determined what I wanted from it. I recognized that it was a [...]
Tension on the screen…

Instead of my usual “it’s Valentine’s Day, how much are the florists making today” rant, I thought I’d take a sexier approach to Valentine’s Day this year. I got the idea using my last year’s birthday present (now a year old), Netflix. I’d always heard of Gilda, but never saw it. I only saw the [...]

They say it’s my birthday. Happy birthday to me.

Winter confusion

I’ve been hearing about and seeing pictures of the snow in the UK this week. There’s supposedly very little salt and no plows because snow is an unusual event there. I guess I’m just an isolated Yank – I’d always thought that England etc. got pretty much the winter that we in the northern states [...]
Shouldn’t there have been a payoff to the Illinois groundhog??

At 10:30 a.m. on Groundhog Day, Tumbleweed Groundhog at the Brookfield Zoo awoke to find a group of guests waiting to find out if she would see her shadow! Tumbleweed did see her shadow, predicting 6 more weeks of winter!
If Tumbleweed had been named Rod, we could have fixed it and blotted out the sun. [...]
